Jennifer Lopez is said to be getting 'pretty serious' with new boyfriend Casper Smart.

The 42-year-old performer and the backup dancer have reportedly struck up a close relationship and have been spending lots of time together.

Jennifer split from husband Marc Anthony back in July after seven years of marriage.

The new couple apparently met six months ago when he was hired to be one of her dancers for her various media engagements and upcoming tour.

'It's pretty serious,' an insider told E! Online about the blossoming romance. 'They're together a lot. She's never been happier.'

'He's totally cool. He's not jaded. He's not asking Jennifer to buy him this or that. He's courting her, like sending her flowers. I think his intentions are in the right place.'

On a recent job to choreograph a new music video for Mike Posner, Casper apparently brought Jennifer along with him.

'It was really nerve-wracking for the dancer,' the insider said. 'They not only had to audition, but they had to do it in front of J-Lo. She was smiling and seemed to enjoy watching her boyfriend work.'

Casper, real name Beau, has worked with Beyoncé Knowles, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Jordin Sparks and David Guetta in the past, as well as appearing on episodes of Glee.

But Casper's past is not squeaky clean and In Touch magazine reported that the 24-year-old could be headed to jail.

Casper was arrested and charged with being part of an illegal highway speed contest and is currently out on $26,000 bail.

He pleaded no contest in March to the charge and was ordered to undertake 10 days of community service by January 5, when he is next due in court.

If he has not completed the court-ordered work then he could go to jail for 90 days and face a $500 fine.
