The Black Eyed Peas singer - who released a solo album entitled 'The Dutchess' in 2006 - insists she doesn't feel envious when she sees other women achieve chart success because she can relate to their ambition.
She said: "I'm all about power in numbers with women. I love Beyonce Knowles' song '(Girls) Run The World' - I love it.
"I think there's room or everybody. I get so happy when I see female artists doing well because I know they were just a little girl with a dream. Like me!"
Fergie - who has released her debut fragrance 'Outspoken Intense' through cosmetics firm Avon - also spoke of her desire to set up her own charity to help cancer sufferers.
She told Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I'd love to start my own charity. Both my parents are survivors of cancer.
"My dad was seriously ill and is lucky he's alive today.
"But at the moment it's great working with Avon, which is involved with raising money for breast cancer and domestic violence."
