Beyoncé Knowles received the Billboard Millennium Award at last night's Billboard Music Awards, with Stevie Wonder saying she has 'made history.
The ceremony took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, with The Hangover Part II star Ken Jeong hosting and a variety of A-names scooping prizes and performing.
R&B songstress Beyoncé picked up the Billboard Millennium Award prize in honour of her music and humanitarian work. Celebrities including Bono, Barbra Streisand and First Lady Michelle Obama paid tribute to the star on film, as did music icon Stevie.
"Beyoncé has made history and she's not even 30 yet," he smiled.
Other big winners on the night included Taylor Swift, who was named Top Album Artist and Country Artist of the Year.
Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber won three prizes; Top New Artist, Digital Artist of the Year and Fan Favorite. The star was thrilled and made sure he thanked his fans as well as his mother and "my whole family, [talent manager] Scooter Braun, Usher ' basically everyone who helped me get out of my hometown and live my dream".
The ceremony boasted many top performances, with Britney Spears and Rihanna opening the ceremony by performing a remix of Rihanna's hit S&M. The pair wore raunchy basques and danced seductively. At one point Rihanna planted a kiss on Britney's cheek which made the crowds go wild. Other music stars to perform at the ceremony included Ke$ha, Black Eyes Peas and Lady Gaga.
