Tickets to see Michael Bublé have been the most traded in 2009 proving that this year has been the Canadian crooner's most successful in Europe. Bublé may have been helped by making 2 appearances on this year's X-Factor including a duet with Stacy Solomon on the final weekend which was seen by more than 17 million people. Tickets to U2's tour were the second most traded, topping off a bumper year for the band which has seen them play in front of millions of people all over the world.
Whilst Michael Bublé topped the chart for the number of tickets resold, Robbie Williams topped the chart for the most expensive music ticket traded on viagogo in 2009. Tickets for his appearance at the Roundhouse for the Electric Proms were trading for up to a staggering £655 a ticket. Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, had the second most expensive ticket of the year at £350, just over half the price of comeback king Robbie Williams.
This year has seen reality television dominate the headlines and as a result has driven huge numbers of concert goers to sites like www.viagogo.co.uk where fans can get tickets to see their favourite performers live in concert, even when they are sold out at the box office. viagogo has enabled its customers access to previously unobtainable concert tickets to see artists like Michael Bublé, Madonna, U2, and Lady Gaga, live in concert all over Europe.
Ed Parkinson, viagogo's UK Director said, 'Live music has dominated the media this year and has reminded people how enjoyable watching live music is and it would seem that the recession has not kept fans at home. This has been viagogo's most successful year to date and we are proud to have helped to connect the fans with their heroes, from U2 to Susan Boyle.'
