MADONNA has been signed up as the face of Louis Vuitton.
Designer Marc Jacobs, the label's creative director, chose the 50-year-old singer to front the Spring/Summer 2009 advertising campaign for the luxury brand.
The global campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, captures the star in a 1940's Parisian café scene and will debuts in magazines around the world from February 2009.
Madonna was reportedly paid £6.5million for the shoot, which depicts her in several scenes in a leotard and fishnet tights showcasing the label's Kalahari bags.
Jacobs said: 'I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric. To carry off all these references and all this sophistication, we needed the ultimate performer – and for me, that is Madonna."
