Jennifer Lopez has recalled 'panicking' after she discovered a lump on her baby's head.
The singer gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February 2008. However, just days later Jennifer was frantic with worry after seeing a mysterious bump on her daughter's head.
Fearing the worst, she and her husband Marc Anthony rushed their child to hospital.
"I just remember that feeling of something is wrong with that baby and I'm gonna die,' she told CNN in an interview for television show Big Stars Big Giving. "I remember looking at Marc and going, 'We should call the doctor.' I started panicking a little bit and he was panicking too because we were thinking, 'Did somebody drop her when we weren't looking?'
"I just remember looking at him and saying, 'If this baby... if Emme's not going to be OK, I'm not going to be OK. He's like, 'I'm not going to be OK - none of us are going to be OK.'"
Jennifer says that doctors reassured them Emme was fine after she underwent a series of tests.
However, the health scare made Jennifer realise the importance of having access to good medical treatment.
Jennifer and Marc went on to found the Maribel Foundation ' named after Marc's sister Maribel who died of brain cancer aged eight.
The charity raises money to provide paediatric care for those who are in need.
"I was thinking, 'What if I didn't have that? What if I didn't have access to great health care?' What if I was a mom just sitting there and there was something wrong with my baby and there was nothing I could do about it?" Jennifer explained in the interview which is due to air in the US next weekend.
