Madonna looking to adopt again

She met son David Banda in an orphanage in the country in 2006 and had his adoption confirmed in 2008, but is now thinking about taking on another child.
Madonna is considering adopting another child from Malawi.

She met son David Banda in an orphanage in the country in 2006 and had his adoption confirmed in 2008, but is now thinking about taking on another child.

The Material Girl told the Malawian newspaper Nation that her friends had given her the idea.

She said: "It's something I have been considering, but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government.

"Many people — especially our Malawian friends — say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister."

When Madonna adopted 13-month old David, the Malawian government was accused of sidestepping laws banning foreign adoptions in order to allow her to do so.

When the adoption was legalised, Madonna said difficulties had arisen because "this adoption essentially was the beginning of the creation of adoption laws in Malawi".

She explained: "I am the template or the role model, so to speak, for future adoptions."

The star also has two biological children - Rocco, eight, her son with Guy Ritchie, and Lourdes, 12, whose father is Carlos Leon.
