Janet Jackson has announced the dates for the North America portion of her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour. Jackson is emphasizing appearances at venues where she is able to be close to the crowd for a more intimate performance. She also will be performing just songs from her Number Ones album, covering all of her biggest hits, along with a special surprise in each city.

Jackson said in a statement, "These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects.
