John Lennon's hand-written scribbled lyrics for 'A Day In The Life' beats estimates at auction and goes for $1.2 million.
The sheet of paper, which also reveals that John Lennon had some trouble finishing the verse about "4,000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire" outlines his ideas for the song that was to be the climax to the 1967 album 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.
At the Sotheby's New York an anonymous bidder set the record for the lyrics.
They had belonged to Mal Evans, The Beatles' roadie, who died in 1976.
